Stay (Faraway, So Close)
I think its the title. And the positioning on the list. After Sad, which is more of a rock song, harder yet still pulling you with its riff, this song is sombre, more subdued. I needed something to balance out the rock before I go too depressed. And this was it. I like balance. I'm not given to strong emotion, but I feel pain like a vice around my heart. And so here we are, pleading to stay. I'm not quite home, and I don't often feel at home. But wherever that it is, I want to stay. I want to go home.
The 'mediocrity' of the tune, that is, its, well, softer mood, seems to lend itself to describing my often go-easy, path-of-least-resistance attitude.
